Full marks to Tekom-Puk’s cable trays from MMK Atakaş – January, 2011

In the Iron-Steel Plant MMK Atakaş, established at a cost of about 1.7 billion dollars in İskenderun and Kocaeli by 50% – 50% participations of Atakaş Companies Group and MMK (Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works), which is one of Russia’s biggest steel Producers, Products of Tekom-Puk have been used in all the cable carrying systems. Tekom-Puk products and services, which are used in the project lasted for 2 years, have obtained the full marks from the authorities of MMK Atakaş.

As a result of the construction works started upon the agreement signed between MMK and Atakaş Companies Group in 2007, Turkish biggest investment in iron-steel field by private sector MMK offering employment possibilities to 2500 persons has arisen in a single attempt starting from scratch. In 2009 the first part of the plant, which has got a land covering an area of 500.000 m2, was implemented and in 2010 it started its first activities. It is planned to complete the rolling mill and steel mill of the plant which produces flat products in February 2011. The plant which will have a liquid steel capacity of 2.5 million tons when it is completed, has been continuing its activities on the two sites situated in Dilovası/Kocaeli and Payas/ Hatay.

All the machines, equipment and installations utilized in the plant, which is established by using the latest technologies and products of the best qualities, are meticulously chosen. At the end of researches made in 2009 Tekom-Puk products are preferred for cable carrying systems of the plant.

MMK Atakaş electricity maintenance department director Emin Karabeyoğlu expressed their satisfaction with Tekom-Puk products in the two year period since the beginning of the project and continued as follows:

“Our collaboration with Tekom-Puk started at the project stage. Tekom-Puk team supplied great supports to quantity survey work of cable carrying systems to be used in the plant. Even it is possible to say that this service offered before purchasing has been effective in choosing Tekom-Puk as our cable tray supplier.”

Project director responsible for project coordination Mustafa Fidan called attention to the readiness and the quality and said:

“Qualities of products and services of Tekom-Puk have satisfied our expectations exceedingly. During the project we used about 2000 tons of products related with cable carrying system. Approximately 100 shipments were made within 2 years. We can easily say that we did not have any minimal problem of quality or timing.”

Where general director of Tekom-Puk Murad Saygın emphasized his happiness for being a part of this important investment of Turkey and expressed his gratitude to the authorities of MMK Atakaş for their confidence and fruitful collaboration.
